About the It’s Normal to Feel Uneasy Infographics

Moving to a new country comes with different feelings because it is a big change for you and your family. Our two pager infographic was created to help newcomers understand that feeling uneasy or stressed is a normal part of the journey. It shows you how to embrace these emotions and find joy in your new community.

Embracing Your Emotions

The first part of this infographic explains common experiences like culture shock or loneliness so that you know you are not alone in how you feel. It includes a simple summary of why these emotions happen and offers practical steps to take if you feel overwhelmed. You’ll find tips on how to talk to people you trust and find community services or health professionals for support.

Joining the Fight Against Stigma

Asking for help is a sign of strength! The second part of this infographic can help you and your community fight the shame sometimes linked to mental health. You will find information on how to challenge myths about mental health and a list of helplines and organizations across the country to seek support when and if you need, where your personal information is kept safe and private.
